Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area, OR

A mountain 100-mile trail race based at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area on the southeast side of Mt. Hood. The course covers a big loop of high-country and forested terrain with extensive crew access and full on-course support. Expect sustained climbing and descending across a long day (and night) in the mountains. Finishers who complete the course under the event cutoff earn Western States qualifier status for the following year.

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area, OR

Wy’east Trailfest is a celebration of mountain trail running on Wy’east — the ancestral name for Mt. Hood — featuring the mountain’s wildly beautiful, dynamic, and challenging alpine terrain. The event is staged at Mt. Hood Meadows in the Mt. Hood National Forest, with big-mountain views and a finish-line party on the Meadows sun deck. Saturday is all about the longer mountain courses (50 miler, 50K, 28K, 14K) that reach the alpine rooftop, followed by more approachable and scenic Sunday races (Half Marathon, 8K).

Mt. St. Helens Science & Learning Center, WA

Backcountry Rise explores the Mt. Margaret Backcountry on the northern blast zone side of Mount St. Helens — a rugged landscape shaped by the 1980 eruption. Expect sapphire lakes, wildflower slopes, toothy ridgelines, and wide-open views where the power and resilience of the mountain is impossible to miss. The 50K and 20 Miler deliver big climbs and sweeping descents with long stretches of remote trail, while the Half Marathon runs the classic loop around Coldwater Lake. All races start and finish at the Mount St. Helens Science & Learning Center above Coldwater Lake.

Perpetua Coast is a trail running weekend in the coastal village of Yachats, Oregon, set in and around the Cape Perpetua National Scenic Area. The courses showcase practically everything the Oregon Coast is famous for — rocky shoreline bluffs, sandy beach segments, epic headland vistas, and moss-draped old-growth rainforest. Races are split across two days: longer options on Saturday and shorter distances on Sunday, with a festive race-weekend vibe based out of The Adobe Resort.

Rogue Gorge is a fall classic in the Southern Oregon Cascades, with courses that run entirely along the iconic Upper Rogue Wild & Scenic River. The Rogue Gorge Trail and Upper Rogue River Trail deliver miles of enchanting singletrack through vibrant autumn foliage, hugging forested bluffs above the river as it churns through collapsed lava tube chasms, underground tunnels, and cascading waterfalls. Race weekend includes point-to-point ultra distances on Saturday, plus shorter Sunday options — all staged from historic Union Creek near Crater Lake country.

Thunder River is a late-season Columbia River Gorge adventure staged from Marine Park in Cascade Locks. With a purely point-to-point 25K and a mostly point-to-point 50K, the courses showcase world-class Gorge scenery, fall colors, and epic views as they travel along the iconic Pacific Crest Trail and the Gorge 400 Trail. Both races cruise under the Bridge of the Gods into Cascade Locks and finish with a loop around Thunder Island — a fitting, river-wrapped finale before crossing the line at Marine Park.
